What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named signal above allowable range, it applies when the pressure difference across the particle filter is too large. The engine control module (ECM) measures the pressure upstream and downstream of the filter and sets the code when the difference becomes too large.
Possible causes
- Damaged particle filter pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Inspect the sensor connector and hoses for damage and loose connections
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, read the sensor signal in live data after the engine has been switched off
- 3Have a workshop check the particle filter pressure sensor with diagnostic equipment and decide whether it needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice3
- The engine warning lamp (Check engine) lights up or behaves abnormally
- A text message and a warning symbol appear in the display
- The car runs poorly and lacks power
What the fault can affect3
- Torque is limited
- Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) control is lost
- Burning of soot particles does not take place
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
