What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the pressure difference before and after the particle filter and sets the code when the sensor's reading is wrong. When the sensor is blocked the signal goes wrong, so the hoses and connections to it are the first things to check.
Possible causes
- Blocked sensor
- Damaged differential pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the hoses and pipes to the particle filter pressure sensor have not been damaged
- 2Make sure the hoses to the pressure sensor are not swapped round
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the pressure sensor value in live data and see whether it changes when the engine runs
- 4Have a workshop check that the sensor is not blocked, and replace it if it is damaged
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
