What does this fault code mean?
The fault is stored as intermittent/erratic, meaning it comes and goes and does not have to be present right now. The engine control module (ECM) monitors the pressure difference before and after the particle filter and sets the code when the sensor's reading is wrong. The fault gives no noticeable symptoms for the driver.
Possible causes
- Hoses or pipes to the particle filter pressure sensor have been swapped
- Damaged connection hose or pipe to the differential pressure sensor
- Damaged differential pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Look over the hoses and pipes to the particle filter pressure sensor for damage and leaks
- 2Make sure the hoses to the pressure sensor are not swapped round
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the pressure sensor signal in live data with the engine running and see whether it changes
- 4Have a workshop check the differential pressure sensor with diagnostic equipment and replace it if it is damaged
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
