What does this fault code mean?
The code is event controlled and is meant as information, not as a sign of a fault in the engine control module (ECM). It is set when the soot burn-off in the particle filter is not completed within the permitted time. The fault applies to bank 1, and the regeneration takes place automatically while driving.
Possible causes
- Driving in conditions that are too adverse for the regeneration to be completed
What you can do
- 1The code is an information code; drive the car a longer distance on open roads so the regeneration has time to finish
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, read and clear the code and see whether it returns after a longer drive
- 3If the message and the high fuel consumption remain, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the particle filter

- Fuel consumption is abnormally high
