What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the pump that cools the EGR valve. The code is stored when the signal from the EGR cooler coolant pump is incorrect, and The causes are an open circuit in the signal wire or a defective coolant pump.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Defective coolant pump for the EGR cooler
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the coolant pump for the EGR cooler and listen for it to start
- 2Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 3Check that the connector to the coolant pump is secure and free from oxidation and moisture
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the pump has no open circuit
- 5If the pump does not start or the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the pump
Symptoms you may notice1
- The Check engine lamp may come on or behave abnormally
What the fault can affect1
- EGR control does not take place
