What does this fault code mean?
The ECM checks the oil level sensor signal and stores the code when that signal is too high. This may be caused by a signal cable shorted to supply voltage or by a damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Signal cable short-circuited to supply voltage
- Damaged oil level sensor
What you can do
- 1Read the fault status with the engine running and note whether the fault is still active
- 2Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal cable from the oil level sensor is not shorted to plus
- 4Check that the connector to the oil level sensor is secure and clean
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the oil level sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
