What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named oil level too low, it is set when the calculated level goes above a limit. The ECM monitors the oil level with the oil level sensor. A low oil level is given as a possible cause, so check the actual level first.

What you can do
- 1Check the oil level with the dipstick and note whether it is too high or too low
- 2Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault status with the engine running and see whether the fault is still active
- 4If the oil level is too high, excess oil can be drained out; if it is too low, top up with the correct oil
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the oil level sensor
