What does this fault code mean?
The ECM checks the feed that comes from the system relay. Possible causes are a faulty charging system, poor contact in the connections or a damaged system relay. The fuel injectors are then shut off, so the engine will not fire even with the starter turning.
Possible causes
- Faulty charging system
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Damaged system relay
What you can do
- 1Check the battery voltage and condition
- 2Check that the generator charges the battery when the engine is running
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the power cable to the system relay has no open circuit
- 4If no fault is found in the checks above, a new system relay can be tried
- 5Have a workshop check the connectors on the engine control module and the system relay if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- The starter turns over but the engine fails to start
What the fault can affect1
- The injectors are shut off
