What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module monitors the pressure in the A/C system with the sensor on the high-pressure side. The code is stored when the signal from that sensor is incorrect. Possible causes are an open circuit or a short to ground in the supply wire, an open circuit or a short to ground in the signal wire, or a damaged pressure sensor.
Possible causes
- Open circuit or short-circuit to ground in the power supply cable
- Open circuit in the signal cable
- Signal cable short-circuited to ground
- Damaged A/C pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the A/C pressure sensor has no open circuit and is not short-circuited to ground (body)
- 2Check the connector to the A/C pressure sensor for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from the A/C pressure sensor has no open circuit and is not short-circuited to ground
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the A/C pressure in live data with the ignition on and see whether the value changes when A/C is switched on
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the A/C pressure sensor
