What does this fault code mean?
The ECM receives the current power supply mode from the central electronic module (CEM) over the CAN network. The code is stored when the ECM detects that the 15-supply from the CEM is missing. Causes can be loose or oxidised connections or an open circuit in the supply cable.
Possible causes
- Poor or oxidised terminals and connections
- Open circuit in the power supply cable
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 2Check that the connectors in the supply to the engine control module are secure and free from oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the 15-supply is present with the ignition on and that the wire has no open circuit
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault status with the ignition on and see whether the fault is still active
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop check the power supply to the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice2
- The engine may stall, sometimes or at all times
- The engine does not start, sometimes or at all times
