What does this fault code mean?
This is an event-controlled information code and does not show a fault in the engine control module. It is set when the control module calculates that the engine oil quality is poor, and it is intended as information for the workshop and the driver.
Possible causes
- Contaminated engine oil
- The control module's calculation of oil quality has not been reset after an oil change
What you can do
- 1Check when the oil was last changed and whether it may be contaminated
- 2After an oil change the control module's calculation of oil quality must be reset, which a workshop does
- 3If the code remains after the oil change, have a workshop check the calculation with diagnostic equipment
