What does this fault code mean?

The fuel pressure sensor on the low-pressure side sends a signal that is too low, and the ECM stores the code when it detects this. Causes can be a signal wire shorted to ground or a damaged sensor.

    Possible causes

    • Signal wire short-circuited to ground
    • Damaged low-pressure fuel pressure sensor

    What you can do

    1. 1Start the engine, warm it up and read the fault status; if the fault is not active, it may have been intermittent
    2. 2If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fuel pressure sensor signal in live data with the engine warm and see whether it is reasonable
    3. 3Check that the relevant fuses are intact
    4. 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from the fuel pressure sensor is not short-circuited to ground (body)
    5. 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the fuel pressure sensor

    Symptoms you may notice1

    • The Check engine lamp comes on or behaves abnormally

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
