What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) sets this code when it blocks a requested rise in idle speed. It is a subsequent fault, meaning it appears as a result of a fault another trouble code test has already found. The underlying fault is the one to fix. This code has no separate fault-tracing of its own.
Possible causes
- Consequence of a fault that another trouble code test has found, involving the clutch pedal, the impulse sensor, the speed signal or the engine temperature
- Troubleshoot the other trouble code instead
What you can do
- 1Read out all trouble codes from the engine control module, since this code appears as a result of another fault
- 2If any code for the clutch pedal, the impulse sensor, the speed signal or the engine temperature is stored, fix that fault first
- 3Erase the code once the underlying fault is fixed, then test drive to see whether it returns
- 4If it returns although the other codes have been dealt with, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment determine what is blocking the idle speed
