What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has received a request from the additive dosing module (ADM) to switch on the warning lamp. The ADM cannot light the lamp itself and has to go through the engine control module. The code is set when that request is received, and the fault may start in the ADM or the central electronic module (CEM).
Possible causes
- Trouble codes stored in the additive dosing module (ADM)
- No power supply to the ADM
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the additive dosing module (ADM) first, then in the central electronic module (CEM)
- 2Fix the faults in the ADM and the CAN-related codes in the CEM; this code cannot be erased until they are fixed and erased
- 3Check that the ADM fuse is intact and that the module receives supply voltage
- 4Check the wiring and connectors to the ADM for chafing, breaks and loose connections
- 5If nothing is found, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment establish where the request is coming from
Symptoms you may notice1
