What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) compares the real-time clock (RTC) value sent from the CEM with an estimated value. The estimate is based on how the available temperature signals normally change over time. The code is set when the clock value does not agree with that estimate.
Possible causes
- Interference on the CAN network
- Damaged central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the CEM and note whether any CAN-related codes are present
- 2Check that the fuses are intact and that the CAN connectors, especially at the CEM, are firmly seated
- 3If the code returns, have a workshop check the CEM, which may be damaged
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
