What does this fault code mean?
The code is set when the actual fuel pressure does not reach the lowest permitted level. The fuel pressure is controlled through the fuel pump control module with a PWM signal, and the cause is a damaged high-pressure pump, which then cannot deliver enough fuel.
Possible causes
- Damaged high-pressure pump
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool: read the frozen values and fault counter of the code to see how often it has occurred
- 2Check that there is enough fuel in the tank
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the actual fuel pressure in live data with the engine running and see whether it is low
- 4If nothing is found, have a workshop decide whether the high-pressure pump needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The high-pressure pump does not deliver enough fuel
