What does this fault code mean?
This is an event-controlled code. It is meant as information and does not indicate any defect in the module where it is active. The engine control module (ECM) monitors engine torque and sets the code when torque goes above a certain recommended level.
Possible causes
- Fault in the injection system
- Faulty software in the engine control module
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read any other codes in the engine control module and deal with those first, since this code only shows that torque has been high
- 2Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the injection system
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read engine torque in live data and see whether it follows the accelerator
- 4If nothing is found, have a workshop check the software in the engine control module; it should only be reloaded if it was changed unintentionally or damaged
