What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) drives a solenoid for the bypass valve. The code is set when the signal is too high or too low as the solenoid is activated. Even though the code is named high, a low signal can also trigger it.
Possible causes
- The signal wire is shorted to supply voltage
- Damaged solenoid
- Damaged connector
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuse supplying the solenoid is intact
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the solenoid has no contact with the positive supply
- 3Check the connector at the solenoid for damage and loose contacts
- 4If nothing is found, have a workshop decide whether the solenoid or the engine control module is damaged
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
