What does this fault code mean?
Each injector has a memory circuit with data about that particular injector. The code is set when the engine control module (ECM) cannot store the memory value from an injector, and it is tested with the engine running. The last stored value from the injector is then used.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the injector
What you can do
- 1Read the code with a diagnostic tool and check whether it is active or only stored
- 2Clear the code and run the engine; if it comes back, it is the same fault
- 3Have a workshop check the injectors, since the fault lies in an injector's own memory circuit
- 4If the workshop finds no fault in the injectors, ask them to check how the engine control module stores the injector values
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The engine control module keeps using the last stored value from the injector
