Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns valve 1 in the cooling circuit for the drive components of the hybrid, which the engine control module (ECM) monitors continuously. If the valve does not work, cooling of the electric drive components may stop. The code is set when the signal wire to the valve is shorted to ground or has an open circuit.
Possible causes
- Mechanical fault on the valve
- Electrical fault on the valve
- Short circuit or open circuit in the wires to the valve
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact; their location is shown in the owner's manual
- 2Check the connectors to the valve for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the valve have no break and no contact with ground (the body)
- 4With a diagnostic tool, activate the valve in the cooling circuit and listen or feel whether it moves
- 5Have a workshop check the valve if the fault remains, since a mechanical fault in the valve is a possible cause
Symptoms you may notice2
- The combustion engine runs in HYBRID mode more often than expected
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
