Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
Even though the code is named over temperature, it concerns the signal wire to valve 1 in the cooling circuit, which the engine control module (ECM) monitors. The code is set when the signal wire is shorted or has an open circuit, and then cooling of the drive components may stop.
Possible causes
- Mechanical fault on the valve
- Electrical fault on the valve
- Short circuit or open circuit in the wires to the valve
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact; their location is shown in the owner's manual
- 2Check that the connectors to the valve are secure and free from oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the valve has no break and no contact with ground (the body)
- 4Have a workshop check valve 1 if the fault remains after these checks
Symptoms you may notice2
- The combustion engine runs in HYBRID mode more often than expected
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
