Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns valve 2 in the cooling circuit for the drive components of the hybrid. The engine control module (ECM) monitors the valve all the time and sets the code when the signal wire to it is shorted or has an open circuit. If the valve does not work, cooling of the drive components may stop.
Possible causes
- Mechanical fault on the valve
- Electrical fault on the valve
- Short circuit or open circuit in the wires to the valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code with a diagnostic tool and check whether it is active or only stored
- 2Check that the fuses are intact; their location is shown in the owner's manual
- 3Look for chafed wiring to valve 2 where it may have touched positive supply
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wires to valve 2 have no contact with positive supply when the connector is unplugged
- 5Have a workshop check valve 2 if the fault remains, since mechanical or electrical faults in the valve are possible causes
Symptoms you may notice2
- The combustion engine runs in HYBRID mode more often than expected
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
