Applies to the following models:

Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
Even though the code is named over temperature, it concerns the signal wire to the A/C shut-off valve, which the engine control module (ECM) monitors. The code is set when the signal wire is shorted or has an open circuit, and then the air conditioning is affected.
Possible causes
- Mechanical fault on the valve
- Electrical fault on the valve
- Short circuit or open circuit in the wires to the valve
What you can do
- 1Read the code with a diagnostic tool and see whether it is active or only stored
- 2Check that the connectors to the valve are secure and free from oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the wires to the valve have no break and no contact with ground (the body)
- 4Have a workshop check the valve if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice3
- Temperature control or air conditioning does not work
- The combustion engine runs in HYBRID mode more often than expected
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
