What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns the control electronics of the electric water pump, where the engine control module (ECM) checks that the circuit board does not get too hot. It is set when the circuit board temperature is too high, and one of the causes is extreme heat conditions.
Possible causes
- Extreme heat conditions
What you can do
- 1Read the code with a diagnostic tool and check whether it is active or only stored
- 2Check that the pump connector is secure and free from oxidation
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the water pump status in live data while the engine runs and see whether it shows anything unusual
- 4Have a workshop check the pump if the fault returns, since the fault may sit in the pump's own electronics
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The pump motor overheats
