What does this fault code mean?
The code means that the impeller of the electric water pump is blocked, which the pump checks itself. Dirt or a blocking object is what stops the impeller from rotating.
Possible causes
- Dirt or blocking objects prevent the pump wheel from rotating
What you can do
- 1Read the code with a diagnostic tool and check whether it is active or only stored
- 2Look for dirt or an object that may block the pump wheel, but let the engine cool down first
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the water pump and listen for whether it stops and restarts several times
- 4Have a workshop remove the blockage and check the pump if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect2
- The pump motor overheats and the pump does not move
- The electric water pump stops and starts three times to try to clear any dirt
