What does this fault code mean?
On cars with an automatic gearbox, the engine control module works out a theoretical value for the torque amplification and compares it with the value that the transmission control module (TCM) sends over CAN. The code is set when the signal from the TCM is higher than is allowed.

- Fault in the transmission control module (TCM), which the signal comes from
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the transmission control module (TCM) first, as the fault should be traced from the module sending the signal
- 2Clear the code in the engine control module only after the root fault is fixed and its code is cleared
- 3Check the CAN connectors between the engine control module and the transmission module for oxidation and loose contacts
- 4If the fault returns: have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the transmission control module
