What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) compares the wheel speeds with the vehicle speed and, when slip occurs, requests extra torque from the engine over CAN. The code is set when the engine control module finds that this request is unreasonable in duration or size. Although the code is titled calculation failure, it concerns the request from the brake control module.
Possible causes
- Fault in the brake control module (BCM), which should be checked first
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the brake control module first and fix them. Then clear the code in the engine control module
- 2Check that the fuses for the brake control module are intact
- 3Check the CAN connections between the engine control module and the brake control module for loose or corroded contacts
- 4Do not work on the braking system yourself. If it returns: have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the brake control module
