What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has received an invalid request for extra torque from the brake control module (BCM). When the BCM detects that the driven wheels are slipping, it asks for more torque, and the ECM checks the conditions before raising torque. Although the fault is named a signal compare failure, the code is set when the request for extra wheel torque is unreasonable in time. The ECM code is stored after the BCM has stored its own fault.
Possible causes
- The fault is in the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the brake control module (BCM) first and remedy them. This code cannot be erased until the BCM fault has been remedied and erased.
- 2Then erase the fault codes and check on a test drive whether the code returns.
- 3Do not work on the brake system yourself. Have a workshop check the BCM if the code returns.
