What does this fault code mean?
Although the fault is named signal incorrect after event, the code concerns the request for extra wheel torque from the brake control module (BCM). It is set when the request is unreasonable in duration and in torque amplitude. The BCM stores its fault first, and the engine control module code cannot be erased until the BCM fault has been remedied and erased.
Possible causes
- The fault is in the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the brake control module (BCM) first and remedy them.
- 2Erase the fault codes once the BCM fault is remedied, then check on a test drive whether the code returns.
- 3Do not work on the brake system yourself. Have a workshop read out and troubleshoot the BCM if the code returns.
