What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) notices a malfunction in the brake pedal position sensor and passes information about it to the engine control module (ECM). The ECM sets its fault code when it receives the fault from the BCM. The cruise control does not function at all while the fault is active. The ECM code cannot be erased until the BCM fault has been remedied and erased.

- Fault on the brake pedal position sensor, registered by the brake control module (BCM)
- The fault is in the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the brake control module (BCM) first. This code cannot be erased until the BCM fault has been remedied and erased.
- 2Check that the brake pedal moves freely and is not stiff or blocked by anything underneath it.
- 3Look for damaged or loose connectors at the brake pedal and on the wiring to the BCM.
- 4Do not work on the brake system yourself. Have a workshop read out and remedy the BCM if the fault remains.
