What does this fault code mean?
The ECM checks its internal serial number against the one held in the brake control module (BCM). The code is set when the serial numbers do not match, and then the engine does not start.
Possible causes
- The ECM's stored serial number differs from the one held in the BCM
What you can do
- 1There is no troubleshooting developed for this code, so have a workshop read it out and check it with diagnostic equipment.
- 2Tell the workshop if the engine control module or the brake control module (BCM) has been replaced, since the two serial numbers must match.
- 3Do not work on the BCM or the brake system yourself. Have a workshop do it.
