What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) should receive a real-time clock time signal from the central electronic module (CEM), but the signal has not reached the ECM some time after the ignition is switched on. The code may be caused by interference in the CAN network or by a damaged CEM.
Possible causes
- Interference in the CAN network
- Damaged central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. Read the fault codes in the engine control module and the CEM, and remedy the other faults first.
- 2If the code returns, have a workshop read out and check the CEM and the CAN network, as this requires diagnostic equipment.
- 3After a repair, check that the code does not come back on a new drive.
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
