What does this fault code mean?
Although the fault is named a watchdog or microprocessor failure, the code concerns speed reduction requests from the closing velocity module (CVM) that are implausible in how often and how long they are sent. The CVM is part of City Safety and can request speed reduction over CAN, and the ECM can receive a torque limiting request. The code is set in the ECM after the fault in the CVM has been stored.
Possible causes
- The fault is in the closing velocity module (CVM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the CVM first and remedy them there. This code can be erased only once the root fault is remedied and its fault code erased.
- 2No troubleshooting has been developed for this code. If the fault remains after the repair, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment troubleshoot the system.
- 3Erase the fault codes once the root fault is remedied, then check on a test drive whether the code returns.
- 4If the code returns, have a workshop check the CVM and the City Safety system.
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
