What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) gets signals from the forward sensing module (FSM) and applies braking help when a collision threatens, as part of the adaptive cruise control function. The code is set when adaptive cruise control requests come too frequently. Although the fault is named a supervision software failure, the code concerns how often the request is sent. It is set after the fault has been stored in the FSM or the central electronic module (CEM).
Possible causes
- The fault is in the forward sensing module (FSM)
- The fault is in the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the FSM and CEM and remedy them first. This code can be erased only once the root fault is remedied and its fault code erased.
- 2Erase the fault codes once the root fault is remedied, then check on a test drive whether the code returns.
- 3If the code returns, have a workshop troubleshoot the FSM and CEM with diagnostic equipment, as this requires measurement.
