ECM-U210764 - Collision Mitigation By Braking. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal plausibility failure
System
Engine Control Module (ECM)

What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) gets signals from the forward sensing module (FSM) and applies braking help when a collision threatens. The code is set when the FSM incorrectly requests a reduction of engine torque. The fault therefore lies in the request from the FSM, and the code is set after the fault has been stored in the FSM or the central electronic module (CEM).
Possible causes
- The fault is in the forward sensing module (FSM)
- The fault is in the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the FSM and remedy them there first. The code in the engine control module is then a follow-on fault.
- 2Erase the fault codes once the root fault is remedied, then check on a test drive whether the code returns.
- 3If the code returns, have a workshop troubleshoot the FSM and CEM with diagnostic equipment.
