ECM-U210766 - Collision Mitigation By Braking. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal has too many transitions / events

What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) gets signals from the forward sensing module (FSM) and applies braking help when a collision threatens. The code is set when the adaptive cruise control function is switched on and off too often. Although the fault is named a signal with too many transitions, the code concerns how often the function is switched on and off. It is set after the fault has been stored in the FSM or the central electronic module (CEM).
Possible causes
- The fault is in the forward sensing module (FSM)
- The fault is in the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the FSM and CEM and remedy them first. This code can be erased only once the root fault is remedied and its fault code erased.
- 2No troubleshooting has been developed for this code. Have a workshop read out and troubleshoot the FSM and CEM if the code returns.
- 3Erase the code after the root fault is remedied, then check on a test drive whether it returns.
