What does this fault code mean?
The closing velocity module (CVM) is part of City Safety and can request speed reduction from other control modules over CAN. The ECM can receive a torque limiting request from the CVM. The code is set when the signal about requested speed reduction from the CVM is lost. Although the fault is named invalid data, the signal is in fact missing. The code in the ECM is a follow-on fault.
Possible causes
- The fault is in the closing velocity module (CVM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the engine control module. If any of ECM-U012088, ECM-U000188, ECM-U1A1400, ECM-U000108 or ECM-U000100 is stored, investigate it first.
- 2Read the fault codes in the CVM and remedy them there first, as the engine control module code is then a follow-on fault.
- 3Erase the fault codes once the root fault is remedied, then check on a test drive whether the code returns.
- 4If the code returns, have a workshop troubleshoot the CVM, since it can request speed reduction.
Symptoms you may notice1
- The check engine lamp lights up or behaves abnormally
