What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the signals from the control modules it communicates with. The code is set when an internal fault has occurred, after which the ECM restarts. Although the fault is named an internal component failure, the code concerns a fault inside the engine control module. It may make the cabin light flicker and the instrument lighting go off briefly.

- Internal fault in the ECM
What you can do
- 1Check the wiring to the engine control module. If no fault is found there, the engine control module needs replacing.
- 2If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the engine control module, then check on a test drive that the code does not return.

- Instrument lighting or the dimmer does not work
- Lighting for the instruments and buttons does not work
- Passenger compartment lighting does not work
