What does this fault code mean?
The power steering module has its own temperature sensor inside, and it gives no signal. The fault code is set when the temperature signal stays absent for a longer period. Because the sensor is inside the module, there is no separate sensor to check.
Possible causes
- Damaged electric power steering module (EPS)
What you can do
- 1Start the engine and read the fault code status
- 2Check that the connectors to the power steering module are secure and free from oxidation
- 3Clear the fault code and road test to see whether it returns
- 4Power steering affects how easily the car can be steered, so have a workshop fix the fault soon
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the electric power steering module (EPS)
Symptoms you may notice3
- No or weak power steering assistance
- General warning lamp is lit
- A message appears in the display
