What does this fault code mean?
The power steering module has detected a fault in its own microprocessor, which controls the module's functions. The cause is a damaged control module. The fault therefore lies in the module itself and not in the other parts of the power steering.
Possible causes
- Damaged electric power steering module (EPS)
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault code and start the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the connectors to the module are secure and free from oxidation
- 3Power steering affects how easily the car can be steered, so have a workshop fix the fault soon
- 4If the fault code returns or is permanent, have a workshop replace the electric power steering module (EPS)
Symptoms you may notice3
- No or weak power steering assistance
- General warning lamp is lit
- A message appears in the display
What the fault can affect1
- No power steering assistance
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
