What does this fault code mean?
This fault code is a consequential fault, set when the power steering gets faulty or implausible speed data from the BCM. The fault therefore lies in the BCM. Remedy the root fault first, then clear this code.
Possible causes
- Fault in the brake control module (BCM), which sends the speed information
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the brake control module (BCM) first and remedy them there
- 2Clear this code only after the root fault has been remedied and cleared, then check that it does not return
- 3A fault in the BCM can affect the braking system, so have a workshop check the BCM and the brakes
Symptoms you may notice3
- Abnormally light steering at high speed
- Abnormally heavy steering at low speed
- Other steering or handling problems
What the fault can affect1
- The speed signal is set to a default value
