What does this fault code mean?
The power steering module monitors the power supply to it and registers that the voltage is too high. The cause is a battery voltage that is too high. The fault shows as a yellow warning symbol in the display, and power steering control does not work.
Possible causes
- The battery voltage is too high
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact. Their location is in the owner's manual or on the cover of the fuse box
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment: read the battery voltage in live data with the engine running and check whether it is too high
- 3If the battery voltage is too high, the charging system may be the cause: have a workshop check it
- 4Clear the fault code after the repair and road test to see whether it returns
- 5Power steering affects how easily the car can be steered, so have a workshop fix the fault soon
Symptoms you may notice2
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
