Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
6 modelsC30 (2007–2013), C30 Electric (2011–2013), C70 (2006–2013), S40 (2004–2013), V50 (2004–2013), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The integrated audio module (IAM) receives no signal from the AM/FM antenna, which means the antenna signal is missing. The fault can lie in the wiring between the antenna amplifier and the audio module, in a damaged amplifier, or in poor contact. The radio then does not work, or receives poorly.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the wiring harness between the antenna amplifier and the integrated audio module (IAM)
- Damaged antenna amplifier
- Contact resistance and/or oxidation
What you can do
- 1Switch off the ignition and disconnect the connector to the audio module (IAM)
- 2Check the connections for contact resistance, play and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the antenna cable between the audio module and the antenna amplifier has no break
- 4If the cable is intact, have a workshop replace the antenna amplifier
Symptoms you may notice2
- Radio does not work
- Poor radio reception
