Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The IAM unit checks the impedance of the speaker in the right front door and has registered that it is too low. The fault may come from a short circuit between the signal wires or from an internal fault in the speaker, and then the speaker produces no sound.
Possible causes
- The signal wires to the speaker in the right front door are short-circuited to each other
- Internal fault in the speaker in the right front door
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check the connectors at the module and at the speaker in the right front door for contact resistance, play and oxidation
- 2Follow the two signal wires to the speaker in the right front door and look for chafing where they may have touched each other
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wires are not short-circuited to each other
- 4If no wiring fault is found, have a workshop check the speaker and replace it if it is damaged
- 5After the work, check that the sound from the speaker in the right front door works
Symptoms you may notice2
- No sound from the speaker in the right front door
- Front and rear parking assistance does not work
