Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The IAM unit checks the impedance of the speaker in the left rear door and has registered that it is too high. The fault may be a break in the signal wire between the speaker and the module or in the speaker itself, and then the speaker produces no sound.
Possible causes
- Break in the signal wire between the speaker in the left rear door and the module
- Break in the speaker in the left rear door
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check the connectors at the module and at the speaker in the left rear door for contact resistance, play and oxidation
- 2Follow the signal wire between the speaker and the module and look for breaks, chafing or loose joints
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not broken
- 4If no fault is found in the wire, have a workshop check the speaker and replace it if it is broken
- 5After the work, check that the sound from the speaker in the left rear door works and that the fault code does not come back
Symptoms you may notice2
- No sound from the speaker in the left rear door
- Front and rear parking assistance does not work
