Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The integrated audio module (IAM) measures the direct current on the two outputs to the loudspeaker in the left rear door. The code is triggered when the gap between the two outputs becomes excessive. The fault lies mainly in the audio module, but the speaker and its connectors or wiring can cause the same symptoms.
Possible causes
- Damaged integrated audio module (IAM)
- Poor contact or oxidation in the connectors to the speaker or the audio module
- Damaged wire or damaged loudspeaker
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the audio system are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Check whether similar codes exist for other speakers; if so, the fault is probably in the audio system
- 3Check the connectors at the audio module and at the speaker for loose connections, oxidation and contact resistance
- 4Inspect the wiring between the audio module and the speaker for damage and replace it if needed
- 5Have a workshop check the speaker and replace it if it is faulty
Symptoms you may notice2
- No sound from the loudspeaker in the left rear door
- Parking assistance audio signals may be missing
