What does this fault code mean?
The IAM unit checks the signal between the antenna amplifier and the window antennas and has registered that the signal is missing or faulty. The fault is a break or a short circuit to ground on the signal wire, and radio reception then gets worse.
Possible causes
- Break or short circuit to ground on the signal wire between the antenna amplifier and the window antennas
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the radio are intact
- 2With the ignition off, check the connections at the antenna amplifier and at the window antenna for contact resistance, play and oxidation
- 3Follow the signal wire from the antenna amplifier to the window antennas and look for breaks, chafing or spots where it may touch the car body
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not broken and has no contact with ground (the car body)
- 5After the work, check that radio reception is good on both AM and FM
