What does this fault code mean?
The IAM unit checks the DC voltage to the antenna amplifier and has registered that it is too low. This is because the supply wire is short-circuited to ground, and radio reception then becomes poor.
Possible causes
- The supply wire to the antenna amplifier is short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the antenna amplifier are intact
- 2With the ignition off, check the connectors at the antenna amplifier for contact resistance, play and oxidation
- 3Follow the supply wire to the antenna amplifier and look for chafing or spots where it may touch the car body
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire has no contact with ground (the car body)
- 5After the work, check that radio reception is good and that the fault code does not come back
