What does this fault code mean?
The infotainment control module (ICM) monitors the signal for buttons 1, 4, 7 and the star key on the left-hand keypad. The fault code is set when the signal is too high or too low, and those buttons may stop responding.
Possible causes
- Short to ground or an open circuit inside the left-hand keypad
- Fault in the cable between the left-hand keypad and the ICM: short to ground or open circuit
What you can do
- 1Press buttons 1, 4, 7 and the star key and see whether they produce any response in the car
- 2Read the code, clear it and check whether it returns
- 3Look at the contacts to the left-hand keypad for oxidation, play or damage
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the cable to the keypad is not broken or in contact with ground; if no cause is found, a workshop can try a new keypad
