What does this fault code mean?
The ICM reads the switches inside the SELECTOR knob. The fault code is set when a signal is missing from any one of the switches, and the knob then does not work.
Possible causes
- One of the switches inside the SELECTOR knob is shorted to ground or has an open circuit
- The switches have jammed
What you can do
- 1Turn and press the SELECTOR knob and see whether it produces a response in the infotainment system
- 2Read the code, clear it and check whether it returns after a test drive
- 3Check that the connectors to the SELECTOR knob are secure and free from corrosion
- 4If the knob cannot be turned or pressed freely, the switches may have jammed; have a workshop check this
Symptoms you may notice1
